Committee Advocating for Racial Equality (CARE)

CARE is a Provincial Committee consisting of members of the Edmonton Japanese Community Association (EJCA), the Calgary Japanese Community Association (CJCA), the Nikkei Cultural Society of Lethbridge (NCS) and the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden (Lethbridge).

Objectives

CARE members strive for societal acceptance. Though the primary focus is on Japanese Canadians, we believe in the equality of all citizens from all walks of life.

Canada is one of the most diverse countries in the world and we want to set an example of how our diversity is a strength.

There are two major focuses of CARE that lead to specific goals. Goals are selected based upon current needs, as well as the interests, skills and connections of members.

1. Promote the contributions of Japanese Canadians in our Province

2. Identify Human Rights Issues and Address them through Collaboration and Cooperation

Meetings are held monthly usually via Google Meet.
