The Metro Edmonton Japanese Community School was incorporated in Alberta on March 15,1977. The purpose is to teach Japanese language to children of Association members and to the members themselves.

The school has been registered as an overseas Japanese education facility for Japanese children who are temporarily in the Edmonton area.
