Employment Opportunity: EJCA/ACL

Position: Cultural/Community Centre Manager

Location: Edmonton

Terms: This is a part-time position of approximately 20 to 25 hours a week, with the possibility of increased hours. Some training can be available for qualified candidates

Deadline for Applications: February 12, 2007.

Context: The Edmonton Japanese Community Association (EJCA) and the Argyll Community League (ACL) are looking for a highly motivated person to manage its joint Cultural Community Centre.

Duties Include: Administering the operation of the centre; Management of the Centre rentals/funds; Supporting existing programs and participating in program development; Reporting to EJCA/ACL Boards; Some function preparation and light cleaning; Overseeing Centre maintenance, major cleaning/security.

Competencies Required: Grade 12 education or equivalent, fluent in English; Computer & dBase; excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational & time management skills; Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues.

Assets Desirable: facility/building management experience and Japanese language ability.
