The Edmonton Japanese Community Association is a dynamic organization supporting an evolving community that sustains a sense of well-being built upon awareness of Japanese heritage in Canada.

  • The National Association of Japanese Canadians: A national body representing Japanese Canadians across the country.
  • Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET): The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme seeks to enhance internationalization in Japan by promoting mutual understanding between Japan and other nations. Specifically the program aims to enhance foreign language education in Japan and to promote international exchange at the local level through fostering ties between Japanese and Canadian youth.
  • Metro Edmonton Japanese Community School: The Metro Edmonton Japanese Community School was incorporated in Alberta on March 15,1977. The purpose is to teach Japanese language to Japanese children who are temporarily in the Edmonton area, as well as children who want to learn Japanese. Basic Japanese is needed as all the instruction is in Japanese. The school has been registered as an overseas Japanese education facility for Japanese children who are temporarily in the Edmonton area.
